New Zealand Visa

Nationals of the following countries do not need a visa to enter New Zealand: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong**, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (South), Kiribati, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Nauru, Norway, Netherlands, Oman, Portugal*, Qatar, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United Nations Laissez-passer, Uruguay, USA (including US nationals from American Samoa and Swains Island), and Vatican City.
Citizens of these countries can stay in New Zealand for a maximum of 90 days. New Zealand has lots of short-term work opportunities for working holidaymakers as well. Some visa free travelers come to New Zealand on working holiday permits to work in the areas of agriculture, horticulture and viticulture (grape-growing).

Visitor Visa Requirements

If your country is not covered by the Visa waiver agreement with New Zealand, you need to present the following:
- a passport valid for at least 90 days and beyond your stay in New Zealand,
- a proof that you want to leave New Zealand within the length of your stay (such as confirmed or open-dated travel tickets, written note from the travel agency that your onward travel has been booked and paid),
- evidence of funds ( cash, travelers checks, bank drafts, updated credit cards).

Finally you should present a declaration by a New Zealand sponsor that he or she will pay for your stay.

Working holidaymakers who are able to show they have worked in the horticulture or viticulture industries for at least three months could be eligible to obtain an extra three-month stay in New Zealand. For more details on this policy, read about the Working Holidaymaker Extension permit.

Special Visitor Categories

Furthermore, New Zealand grants visas to special visitor categories such as Antarctic dwellers, business travelers, children adopted overseas, children to be adopted, conference delegates, crew members joining vessels or aircraft, participants of culturally-arranged marriages, dependent children of New Zealand citizens and residents, group visas, tour guides, parents and guardian of students.

Business Visa

New Zealand grants short term and long term business visas. For a long term business visas, you need present proof that you own at least 25% shares of the business. You have be directly involved in the management and operations as well.
Moreover, to get a Long Term Business Visa you need to show these:
- documents of your business experience that supports your desired business in New Zealand (if you have not started your own business, you should have occupied a managerial position or higher at your previous workplace),
- proof of investment funds for the proposed business and enough funds to support yourself and your family for three years,
- a business plan detailing your proposed business, suppliers, customers, marketing, staff, assets, financial forecasts, and how the business will benefit New Zealand,
- a full understanding of your desired business and the New Zealand business climate in relation to your business.
