Oneworld Alliance

Oneworld alliance is comprised of some of the world’s best airlines, including American Airlines, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Finnair, British Airways, LAN, Malev, Royal Jordanian, and Qantas.

Oneworld’s central management is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Americann Airlines, Canadian Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, and Qantas founded Oneworld alliance in 1999. The alliance stands by its slogan “oneworld revolves around you.”

Malev, Japan Airlines, and Royal Jordanian joined Oneworld Alliance in 2007. Cathay Pacific’s Dragonair, Japan Airlines’ subsidiaries, and LAN joined later as affiliate members. Oneworld alliance is celebrating its tenth year in 2009, during which it introduced a new livery: an upgraded version of its logo.

As of May 2009, Oneworld alliance has flown to more than 720 destinations in 140 countries. oneworld flies around 8300 daily flights and serves more than 330 million passengers with its 2200 aircraft.

Oneworld ranked as the world’s best airline alliance for three years (2002, 2004, 2005). In 2008 Business Traveler Awards named Oneworld alliance as the world’s leading airline alliance for the sixth time.
