This list succeeds our first article on Beijing, China. Being the capital city, and home to endless historical monuments, Beijing can entertain tourists for the extent of their trip and longer! To continue, a visit to the Temple of Heavenadds memories to any Beijing trip. Tourists find people in front of the temple, gazing at its beauty, relaxing in the sun, chatting and plotting their next sightseeing adventure. The circular architecture used symbolizes heaven to which emperors would pray for abundant harvests. Walk through the temples, the surrounding cypress trees and over the Red Stairway Bridge, which emperors used for centuries.

Walls, Tombs, and Ruins
Great Wall, Beijing ChinaAbsolutely necessary to your trip in Asia, is a visit to the Great Wall. Closest the Beijing, the Badaling Section usually has the most visitors, but other spots further down may be less crowded. The Badaling section, built over hundreds of years around 500 B.C., protected the main pass, Juyongguan, used for trade and travel. The Mutianyu Section, much less crowded, serves as a great day trip to the wall with half the visitors. Be sure to stop at the Ming Tombs while visiting for more spectacular architecture traditional to the Dynasty’s of China’s history.

Summer Palace, BeijingAnother great day trip with beautiful scenery is the Summer Palace, once used to help the emperors escape from everyday life in the city! The world-renowned 17-arched Bridge provides a wonderful photo opportunity. Boat rentals, scenic walks, and historic temples help pass the day in this special spot. Back in the city, Wangfujing Street juxtaposes the calmness of the lake at the Summer Palace. In the heart of the city, this street houses shops, eateries, entertainment and all the local nuances of Beijing. Located here, the largest TV screen is only one of many neon signs lining the street. Perfect for all your souvenirs, this comprehensive shopping street is frequented by tourists and locals alike.

CCTV Tower BeijingA newer edition to Beijing, among its many historical monuments, is the CCTV Tower. Offering beautiful views, this modern addition has become part of Beijing’s skyline. The park below the tower provides a nice spot for lunch, a stroll or boat rental.

Clearly, Beijing has so much to offer tourists. This city wonderfully melts modern day Asia with its unique past resulting in a comprehensive, beautiful and rich tourist destination.
