On the main island of Viti Levu, there are three championship golf courses, and several smaller public courses can be found around Viti Levu and one each on Vanua Levu and Taveuni. There are private courses on the Shangri-la Fijian Resort and Naviti Resort in west Viti Levu and at Wakaya Island Club and Naigani Island Resort in the eastern islands.

Denaurau Golf and Racquet Club, FijiThe Denaurau Golf and Racquet Club features a course with flat, open fairways and several coconut trees. Mountains can be seen and there is one hole very near the sea. There is a clubhouse with a bar and restaurant and golf equipment can be hired. Professional lessons can be arranged for beginners, but green fees are a bit high here, though this includes use of a golf cart.


Pacific Harbour Country Club, Suva Area, Viti Levu

Pacific Harbour Golf, FijiThe course condition at Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club is quite good with undulating fairways and lush surrounding vegetation and mountains. You can hire a cart and clubs, and there is a wonderful bar and restaurant to relax in after the game is over. Course fees here are extremely reasonable.

Fiji Golf Club, Suva, Viti Levu

Pearl Championship Fiji Golf CourseThough the course condition at the Pearl Championship Fiji Golf Course and Country Club is good, it is prone to flood after heavy rainfall. There are competitions here quite often, and as the club is popular with Suva residents, it gets crowded on weekends. The fairway is flat and long with a lot of vegetation and the club has the usual amenities, including a bar and restaurant. Green fees are very reasonable.

Other 18-hole Public Courses

Public Fiji Golf CourseOther courses where you can play for a fee are the Nadi Airport Club, and Lautoka Golf Club, where it is hilly terrain, but the fairway is fairly good. Other public courses include the Vatukoula Golf Club, Penang Golf Club and the Labasa Golf Club.



Pro-Am and Professional Competitions

Golf Competitions, FijiThere are several competitions in May and June each year in Fiji and it is a wonderful experience to combine a vacation and watch good golf being played on picturesque courses. In May, there is Shangri-la Fijian Resort Pro-Am, and the BMW International Charity Pro-Am and Air New Zealand Pro-Am, both at Denarau. In June, there is the Fiji Bitter Open at the Fiji Golf Club, the Pacific Harbor Pro-Am and the Denarau Pro-Am.
