Niue is an island nation in the South Pacific some three hours by plane from New Zealand. Locals call it the "Rock of Polynesia."

Getting There
Air New Zealand is the only airline serving Niue, taking over Polynesian Airlines which stopped flying in 2005. It flies to Niue once a week. Air New Zealand flies from Auckland 9:50 AM every Sunday. It lands in Niue at 1:30 PM. The return flight leaves Niue Saturday at 2.30 PM and arrives in Auckland Sunday at 6.25 PM. Niue International Airport is in the airfield west of the island. It was expanded in 1995 to allow a Boeing 737 aircraft. Presently, Niue is trying to attract foreign investors in tourism. Slowly but surely, investments are coming in.
