Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO), a.k.a. Fiumicino Airport is Italy's largest and is the sole hub for Alitalia. With five terminals, the choices for cheap flights through dozens of international cities are a possibility. Only 22 miles from Rome's center and in close proximity to the airport, the A-91 Roma-Fiumicino 6-lane roadway is quick access by rented car, busses or taxis. The Leonardo Express Train also operates from the airport with two non-stop connections per hour to Termini Station in Rome. Alternatively, passengers may take one of the local trains that depart every 15 minutes, but which have frequent stops and may require transfers.

Rome Ciampino Airport is a joint civilian, commercial and military airport. Located just seven and a half miles from historic Rome's center, it is one of the oldest airports still in operation today. It handles charter and executive flights almost exclusively.
