Mumbai is served by the busiest international airport called Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, formerly known as Sahar International Airport. This airport has received an award for being the Best Airport in India. Consisting of two main terminals, Terminal 1(Santa Cruz) serves domestic flights and Terminal 2 (Sahar) serves international flights. These two terminals together are called Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Sahar International airport is located in Sahar, east of the suburbs of Andheri and Santa Cruz airport is located in the east of Santa Cruz. There is a free shuttle service provided by the airport authority for connecting travelers to commute between these two terminals.
Terminal 1 is divided into two terminals, Terminal 1A and Terminal 1B based upon the domestic airlines they cater to. Terminal 1A caters to Alliance Airlines, Indian Airlines and Kingfisher Airlines while Terminal 1B caters to Jet Lite, Kingfisher Red, Go Air, Indigo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.
