As its name suggests, Gold Coast is a coastal city in Australia. Aptly situated at the southeast corner of Australia's state of Queensland, Gold Coast is sandwiched between the states of Brisbane and New South Wales. It is renowned as a "Surfers Paradise" and a popular tourist spot for sightseeing, adventure sports, and an exciting nightlife. If the beaches at Surfers Paradise are too crowded for your taste, head over to Broadbeach or North Burlegh. Be sure to check out Tweed Heads and buy a multi combo pass for the theme parks - Sea World, Dream World, Movie World, Wet'n'Wild, and many others.

Airline carriers serving regional and international destinations include AirAsia X, Air Zealand, and Jetstar Airways, amongst others. No direct flights are available from the United States, but Jetstar Airways, Virgin Blue, and Tiger Airways Australia offer domestic transfer flights from most of the major cities in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Canberra. Virgin Blue, along with a number of other carriers, offers different discounts and deals. You can also travel during the off-peak season, which include most of June, part of July and all of August, from a little before Thanksgiving to just before Christmas, and from the end of January to the end of March. These dates are so staggered due to how holidays and school vacations in Australia fall.
