Catching the Cheapest Flights to Brisbane
Brisbane, or Brissie, as the locals call it, is the third largest city in Australia, behind Syndey and Melbourne; though it is fast becoming the most popular place to live in Oz. Brisbane is undergoing many changes and is successfully marrying its ‘small town’ attitude to a brand new ritzy and artsy façade. The home to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the largest in the world, Brisbane is experiencing an emergence as a top vacation destination. Popular sites include the Maritime Museum, the Goodwill Bridge, Brisbane Botanic Gardens, and the Alma Park Zoo. Don’t miss the Castlemaine-Perkins XXXX Brewery for a fun tour and free samples! Finally, walk along the boardwalk of the Brisbane River and see the Brissie that the locals know and love; finish the day with some fantastic cuisine, prepared as only the Aussies know how!

Your best opportunity for cheap fares is to plan well in advance and book online. Airfares will be cheaper if purchased at least three weeks in advance. Sooner is better! Also look at the two low-cost carriers, Jetstar and Pacific Blue, and work in reverse to get your lowest fares, planning to connect from cities that have regularly scheduled service on these airlines to Brisbane.

Major Airports

The Brisbane Airport is the only airport in the city of Brisbane and is also one of the largest and busiest in the country. There are international and domestic terminals here that serve thousands of travelers each day and the airport also serves as a stopover for connecting flights to other destinations in the world.

The international terminal of the airport has much to offer for those travelers who are waiting for their flights. Checking in is done on Level 4 of the building and there are several diners and shops where you can pass the time while waiting for your flight. If you just landed in Brisbane, the arrivals are located on Level 2 and you can find car rentals in this part of the building.
