Jinnah International Airport, the largest airport in Pakistan, is located in Karachi. The next major airport is the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad.

Jinnah International Airport (JIA), used to be known as Quaid-e-Azam International Airport, is named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah. With 16 passenger gates, the terminal can handle 30 planes instantaneously. On the average, six million passengers use the terminal yearly. JIA is the main hub of Pakistan National Airlines, with its airport complex linked with corridors to two satellites. Each of the two satellites has eight passenger loading bridges. The two satellites handle domestic and international operations respectively. The shopping arcades at Jinnah International airports have excellent rugs, carpets, sporting goods, among others. The restaurants offer Pakistani and international cuisine as well.

Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA), formerly called the New Islamabad International Airport, is named after the slain Prime Minister, Benazir Bhuto. BBIA replaced the overloaded Islamabad International Airport in Chaklala, giving better access for the northern provinces. The new 3,200-acre site, the first green-field airport in Pakistan, is 20 km from Islamabad. It has two Category F runways so they can handle bigger aircrafts. The new and bigger airport is seen to be able to handle eight million passengers yearly.

A bigger cargo complex is nearing completion, capable of handling 100,000 tons a year. It features four exit taxiways and a parking area for captured aircrafts. The new terminal is designed to symbolize the Pakistani character with the terminal's interior inspired by traditional Islamic motif. The design also synchs in with nature as it uses natural light. The
