Airports in Indonesia

The most modern airport in Indonesia is the Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in Jakarta. Another airport at par with Halim Perdanakusuma in modernity is the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng, Banten.

Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport was Jakarta's major airport until Soekarno-Hatta International Airport opened in Cengkareng. Halim received international routes to Jakarta. Today, the airport houses a number of turboprop, charter, and other airlines. The Indonesian Air Force is based on the airport. With the new airport in Banten, Halim is now used for private parties.

Meanwhile, Soekarno-Hata International is 20 km northwest of Jakarta. There are a number of shops at the terminal: a duty-free store, a gift shop, and a book shop. The two terminals have restaurants serving meals round-the-clock. The executive and VIP lounges in Terminal 1 may also be used by passengers.

Soekarno-Hata International Airport receives flights from Ansett Australia, Bouraq, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Continental Micronesia, EVA Air, Fast Air, Garuda Indonesia, Gatari Hutama, Japan Airlines, Japan Asia, Malaysia Airlines, Martinair Holland, Merpati Nusantara, Qantas, Royal Brunei, SIA Cargo, and Thai Airways.
