Airports in Afghanistan

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a land area of 647,500 square kilometers with a population of 32,738,376. Its capital is Kabul and it is a landlocked area located in the center of Asia. Since the early days, the country has been the focal point of trade and migration in the area. Afghanistan has undergone brutal civil wars with foreign invaders such as the Soviet invasion in 1979 and the United States in 2001. The country is a mountainous country with plains in the north and southwest with its natural resources including precious metals like gold, silver, copper, zinc and iron ore among others. Because of the infusion of multi-billion US dollars in international assistance and investments as well as the remittances of Afghans located throughout the world, Afghanistan has improved greatly. The growth of their economy increased due to the improvement of the agriculture and the end of a drought in the country.

Afghanistan is divided into 34 provinces Badakhshan, Badghis, Baghlan, Balkh, Bamyan, Daykundi, Farah, Faryab, Ghazni, Ghor, Helmand, Herat, Jowzjan, Kabul, Kandahar, Kapisa, Khost, Konar, Kunduz, Laghman, Lowgar, Nangarhar, Nimruz, Nurestan, Oruzgan, Paktia, Paktika, Panjshir, Parvan, Samangan, Sare Pol, Takhar, Wardak and Zabol.
