Overview

Cyprus Turkish Airlines is a Cypriot airline based in Nicosia and is the flag carrier for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It commenced operations in 1975 and presently has a fleet of seven aircraft with five more on order. Its IATA code is YK, ICAO code KYV and call sign of AIRKIRIS.

Where Do They Fly

It flies charter flights to Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania and Turkey. It also operates scheduled flights to destinations in Turkey, the United Kingdom and some countries in North and Western Europe. All services to Europe make a stop over in Turkey.

Baggage

Baggage allowance is 55 lbs for adults. There is no allowance for infants. Baggage above 70 lbs is not permitted and hand luggage is restricted to 11 lbs. Excess baggage is charged at different rates depending on the destination and could go up to 7euros per kilogram. Plastic sacks, tin boxes, etc. are not permitted on their flights.

In-flight Service

Catering services are in house, and meals are prepared as per the flight times. Alcoholic drinks are served free of charge while flying to destinations in Europe. Special meals for vegetarians, diabetics and gluten free meals are also offered if there is advance notice.
