Royal Jordanian Airlines has international and domestic passenger and cargo services across four major continents. The airline's aim is to be the best in the Middle East. Today, it operates 500 flights per week.

Royal Jordanian Airlines' IATA Code is RJ, ICAO Code is RJA and Callsign is Jordanian.

Where Do They Fly

Royal Jordanian Airlines operates to 56 domestic and international destinations across Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. Countries include Algeria, Egypt, China, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bahrain, Iraq, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.

The airline provides three choices for check-in - self check-in at kiosks, advanced boarding and airport check-in. Kiosks are provided to ease travel arrangements without waiting in long queues at the counters. Advance boarding is also provided - a passenger can check-in at least 24 hours before the flight departure. Early passengers get to benefit from 22 lbs of free excess baggage. For the normal check-in at the airport, the airline advises passengers to arrive at the airport at least two hours before the scheduled time of departure.

For all international destinations except North America, the Crown Class can carry one piece of baggage with a total weight of 30 kg or 64 lbs with overall dimensions of 62". For the economy class, a passenger can carry one bag with a total weight of 20 kg or 44 lbs with overall dimensions of 62". Children traveling who are paying 50 percent or more of the total airfare get the same weight allowances.

For flights to and from North America, a passenger is allowed to carry two bags with a total weight of 50 lbs for the economy class and 70 lbs for the Crown class. Bags will follow the same total dimensions. For cabin weight allowance, all pieces should not exceed 7 kg or 15 lbs. Excess baggage fees vary according to destination.

Infants traveling with Royal Jordanian airlines must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old. The infant should be less than two years old but more than one week old on the day of the flight. As per aviation regulations, babies below seven days old will not be allowed to travel with the airline.

No passenger is allowed to travel with two lap babies. An adult will only be allowed to travel with two babies provided that the other one is able to sit upright without assistance. During the flight, bassinettes will be provided for all infants traveling.

Because the number of infants that may travel with the airline is limited, this service is on a first come first served basis. Infants will incur a fee of 10 percent of the total airfare.

Young travelers are provided with puzzles and on-board games to make the flight more enjoyable for them. The airline also offers an Unaccompanied Minor service to children who are five to 12 years old. Those minors who are 12 to 15 years old and are traveling to the US alone are considered as unaccompanied minors and should be enrolled in the service before the flight.

The unaccompanied minor service will incur a fee of 60 USD for the travel to and from the Royal Jordanian Gateways and 100 USD for points beyond the airline's gateways in Canada and the US. These minors will be accompanied through the immigration process, boarding, check-in and other pertinent procedures. Parents or legal guardians of the minor should fill up all necessary information needed by the airline for the safety of the child.

The weight of the animal to be carried must not exceed 15 lbs and the flying hours of the flight chosen should not exceed five hours. The pet is not included in the free baggage allowance of the passenger and will incur a separate fee during the flight (fee depends on the length of the flight). All pets carried by the airline should not show any aggressive behavior and should be in healthy condition. They can only be carried in the economy class cabin and baggage cabin.
