Overview

Korean Air, which celebrated its 40th Anniversary on March 1, 2009, offers outstanding customer satisfaction, excellent in-flight services, convenient online and offline booking services and SKYPASS frequent flyer awards.

Where Do They Fly

Korean Air flies to the Americas, China, Mongolia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Japan, Korea, Oceania, Southeast Asia, and India.

Check-In

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport two hours prior to departure so that check-in of seat assignment and baggage check is completed 40 minutes before take-off. For flights departing to the U.S., check-in and boarding may take up to two hours or more to allow for security checks. Passengers departing to the U.S. and Europe must have check-in completed one hour prior to departure. Currently, Korean Air does not allow changes to reservations. If passengers need to make reservation changes they should contact the Korean Air Reservations at 1 800 438 5000 or Skypass at 1 800 438 5000.

Baggage

First and Prestige Class passengers are allowed two pieces of baggage not to exceed a total weight of 40 lbs. (18 kg) and a size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm or a total of less than 115 cm per piece. Economy passengers are allowed two pieces of baggage plus 1 additional piece with a total weight of 25 lbs. (12 kg) and a size of 55 x 40 x 20 cm or a total of less than 115 cm per piece.

Child Fares

Airfare for infants under two years of age not occupying a seat will be 10% of the accompanying adult's airfare. A ticket is required for children over the age of 24 months because the child must occupy his/her own seat for safety reasons. Airfare for children between two and 12 years of age will be 75% of their accompanying adult's fare. Airfare for unaccompanied minors varies, depending upon their date of travel and itinerary. Pets

Korean Air only allows dogs, cats, and household birds on passenger flights. American Pit Bull Terriers, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and other aggressive dogs are not allowed. Reptiles (snakes and lizards) and rodents (i.e. rats, mice, ferrets, weasels, etc.) cannot be carried on Korean Air passenger aircrafts. Most countries require a rabies vaccination certificate from pets arriving from Korea. Pets should be vaccinated 30 days prior to the departure date.

Carrying Oversized Baggage (Musical Instruments, Strollers, etc.)

Passengers on Korean Air may transport large musical instruments like cellos as a carry-on or they may transport them as check-in baggage. Large instruments must occupy an extra seat when carried into the cabin, and passengers will need to purchase an adult-fare ticket for the instrument. Large instruments may also be checked in as baggage at the check-in counter and passenger must pay any extra fees, depending on total weight.

In-Flight Service

Passengers have access to a multimedia in-flight entertainment system including ten movie and 16 music channels to select from and a good selection of newspapers and magazines

Air Miles

Skypass members accrue mileage bonuses for up to five years after traveling on Korean Air and its partner airlines.

Airline Food

Korean Air prepares in-flight meals for International flights to Seoul, Korea. First class passengers can select dishes from Western, Chinese, Japanese, and other fine cuisines that reflect the foods unique to the departure regions. First class passengers can also pre-order outstanding meals from "First Class Korean COurse Meal Orderinf Service" on select routes from Incheon to many North American destinations, i.e. Vancouver, Toronto, Dallas, and Honolulu. Main dishes will vary according to season of the year. An airline catering company, located at the airport, usually prepares most meals for international flights. Korean Air also offers a wide range of fine quality wines onboard.

Airline Alliance

Korean Air has an airline alliance with SkyTeam, which offers flights to 658 destinations in 133 countries and boasts a combined fleet of more than 2,000 aircraft. The nine member airlines of SkyTeam are Aeromexico, Alitalia, Air France, Continental, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta, KLM, Korean Air, and Northwest.
