Uzbekistan Airways, the national carrier of the Uzbek people, was created under the authority of Uzbek President Islom Karimov. With the disbanding of the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan Airways aimed to modernize its country's transportation system and penetrate the international flight industry as well.

Where Do They Fly

With its base at Tashkent, Uzbekistan Airways has 51 destinations and flies to selected countries in Asia's regions, Eastern, Southern, and Western Europe, and the United States.


The counters for all international flights open two hours prior to the scheduled time of departure and close 40 minutes prior to the flight. For domestic flights, the openings and closings vary, depending on the type of carrier. For Boeings -767, 757, Tu-154, and RJ-85, check in begins one hour and 30 minutes prior to the flight and ends 30 minutes before. For Yak-40 and An-24, the counter opens 40 minutes prior to the flight and closes 20 minutes before. Passenger tickets may only be used by the person whose name is on the ticket. Passengers are allowed one carryon bag with a maximum weight of 5 kg. The dimension of the bag must be within the limits of 50 x 40 x 25 cm. Passengers paying at least 50% of the transportation tariff are given a free check-in baggage allowance of 40 kg for First Class, 30 kg for Business Class, and 20 kg for Economy Class. Two bags are allowed per passenger, and they should not be heavier than 32 kg. The dimension of each one must not exceed 158 cm. Excess baggage may be checked in at a cost of $108 US.

Child Fares

Children less than two years of age are charged 10% of the adult fare, while children from two to 12 years of age may have discounted tickets given by Uzbekistan Airways tariffs. Unaccompanied transportation of children is allowed for international flights for children five years and above

Senior Fares

Senior fare discounts are available for Business Class fares.


Dogs, cats, and monkeys can be transported in the cabin provided they are not over 8 kg in weight with the exception of guide dogs. Those exceeding the 8 kg limit and birds in cages will be put in cargo compartments. Valid certificates from veterinary officials must be presented for each animal.

Carrying Oversized Baggage (Musical Instruments, Strollers, etc.)

Musical instruments may be considered as baggage and must therefore meet the corresponding rules in baggage transportation.

In-Flight Service

The Sky Shop offers an assortment of items, such as souvenir bags. The Airshow video system is a video program that gives out information on the airliner's position and offers audio music channels.

Airline Food

Uzbekistan Airways offers Asian, Indian, Kosher, infant, and vegetarian food which must be requested 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure
