Overview

Allegiant Air makes traveling as convenient as possible by giving affordable domestic flights to several destinations in the Unites States of America. The airline is a popular choice for many young travelers who would opt to fly with a budget airline. Allegiant Air chooses secondary airports instead of major ones to cut back on operational costs to be able to give cheap airfares to their passengers.

Allegiant Air's IATA Code is G4, its ICAO Code is AAY and Callsign is Allegiant.

Where Do They FLy?

Allegiant Air flies to 71 destinations in the United States alone. Some of the most popular ones include Arizona, Colorado, California, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Oregon, New York and Minnesota.

Check-In

Allegiant Air has online check-in available for all passengers except for those with special needs or concerns, such as passengers with disabilities or parents traveling with infants. The airline advises passengers to be at the check-in counters two hours before the departure because desks close 45 minutes before the flight. Those who are late for check-in may not be allowed to board.

To allow ample time for processing of papers, security check and other important procedures, it is best to arrive at the airport early. For those who are traveling with excess bags, be sure to be at the airport early to avoid inconveniences.

Baggage

All carry-on bags should comply with the airline's given size allowance of 9" x 14" x 22" (L x W x H) and should fit the overhead compartment. A carry-on bag plus one personal item will be allowed inside the aircraft for every passenger. Examples of personal items are purse, laptop, briefcase, diaper bag, camera, reading material, umbrella, coat or jacket. For check-in baggage, an overweight baggage will be charged from US$15 to US$20 for the first bag and US$25 for the second bag depending on your destination.

All baggage should pass the airline's security check and should not contain any hazardous material that can be a threat during the flight.

Travelling Infants

Because infants are fragile, Allegiant Air does not allow infants who are under 14 days old to travel, unless an attending physician approves of the infant's flying in writing. Allegiant Air takes care of its passengers by ensuring everyone's safety and avoiding unwanted incidents. Babies who are more than 14 days old but less than 2 years old are allowed to travel on their parents' laps if accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Birth certificate or other proof of age is required.

Flight attendants will see to it that infants' needs are met and will make every effort to extend a hand to the adult holding the child.

Minors

All children who are traveling without a companion and are between ages 5 and 11 should book the "unaccompanied minor services" offered by the airline. A fee of US$100 will be charged for every minor traveling alone. During the day of the flight, a parent or guardian should accompany the child to the airport to complete all needed details regarding the person who will pick up the child at the destination. The person who is assigned to pick up the child should give proper identification documents that should match the information given by the parents of the child.

Pets

Pets can be carried inside the cabin for a fee of US$50 for each way. However, only domestic cats and dogs will be allowed inside the passenger cabin. All other kinds of animals will be accepted as check-in baggage. A passenger cannot carry more than two pets at a time. Passengers who are bringing pets should settle with the airline staff at least 24 hours before the departure. The cage of the pet is included in the baggage limitations.

For everyone's safety, a passenger should present a valid veterinary certificate of health to ensure that the pet is in good health conditions.
