Although based in Germany, Eurowings has both domestic and international scheduled flights. Their domestic destinations include cities like Berlin, Hanover, Cologne, Bristol, Munich and Dusseldorf, while their international trips have scheduled flights for Brussels, London, Madrid, Turin, Vienna and Paris. They also fly to Newquay, although it is a seasonal destination.

Check-In

Eurowings has an electronic check-in service referred to as etix. Short for electronic ticketing, this should be done 24 hours before departure for both domestic and international destinations. You just have to personally collect your boarding card from the quick check machine that can be located at the terminal building just before take off. Airports that provide the etix service with a check-in machine also have an integrated check-in for luggage. Without having to line up at a long queue, you will be directed to a baggage drop off without a long wait. A total of two pieces of luggage are allowed per person.

Baggage

The carry on allowance for Eurowings is one piece of hand luggage which should be about 55 x 40 x 20 cm (21x16x8") large. It should also not exceed the maximum weight of 8 kg/17 lbs. For check-in baggage, there is only an allowance of a maximum of two bags that should be only about 30 kg/66 lbs for business class passengers while only 20 kg/44 lbs for economy. For overweight baggage, there is a fee of 4 Euros for every kg of excess. Excess baggage will be charged by 4 Euros once it has exceeded the allotted 20 kg/44 lbs allowance.

Traveling Infants

Children that are over two years old should be seated and fastened on passenger's seat. They can fly free of charge for both domestic and charter routes. Children with ages two to 12 years old receive a 33 or 50 percent reduction for domestic routes, depending on the applicable fare. The free allowance for a baby's luggage is 20 kg/44 lbs, already including the buggy. Strollers are allowed free of charge, but Eurowings has to be first informed whether it is foldable or not through their call center.

Minors

For children traveling unaccompanied, there is a service provided by Eurowings wherein he or she will be joined by a staff member. To qualify for the unaccompanied child service, the child must be between the ages of five to 17. Children with ages ranging from five to 11 will only be allowed to travel alone when they purchase this service, while youths with ages 12 to 17 will only be accompanied if deemed necessary by parents or relatives. Acquiring this service should be done when the flight is booked to find out whether the request is confirmed or rejected. The rejection may occur when the maximum number of children allowed to travel alone is exceeded.

Pets

Dogs and cats (domestic and service animals alike) that weigh about 5 kg/11 lbs are allowed in the cabin of Eurowings flights. Pets which are transported during inner-German routes are free only if the free luggage has not been exceeded. For international routes though, they will be treated as extra luggage. It is also a must to register your pet by informing your travel agent at the time of booking. There are no general terms and conditions for the transportation as the arrangements are different for each flight and aircraft type.
