Overview

China Airlines has approximately 67 aircrafts including 47 Passenger Jets and 20 Freighters. These aircrafts average an age of five to six years making China Airlines one of the few airlines with the newest airplanes. They provide the easiest and most convenient services in terms of booking and reservations and provide high standards of safety and service.

Where Do They Fly

China Airlines is based in Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport, which is also the country's prime airport that caters to several destinations in the world. Its flights extendto several destinations including many cities in the United States, Europe, and many parts of Asia. There are an estimated number of 54 flights per week.

Check-In

Seat requests are to be reserved 60 minutes prior to the departure of a flight. China Airlines reserves the right to change seats or reassign sittings without prior notice to those concerned when it is proper or due to some special reasons, although they always do the best they can to ensure that all seat requests are met.

Baggage

Passengers are allowed to carry a single bag and one personal item such as a handbag, laptop bag or briefcase. This carryon baggage should fit in the overhead compartment inside the aircraft. Passengers must be able to handle their carryon baggage without having to ask assistance. Free check-in baggage allowance is limited to 20 kg for economy, 30 kg for business class and 40 kg for first class flights.

Child Fares

Pets

China Airlines allows domesticated animals in the cargo area of the aircraft. Guide dogs for blind people are allowed provided that they have been trained and muzzled. Any blind person traveling with a guide dog should contact China Airlines when booking a seat or reservation. These guide dogs will not be allowed a seat, and the passenger should be ready with a moisture absorbent mat for the guide dog.

Carrying Oversized Baggage (Musical Instruments, Strollers, etc.)

Each kilogram of excess baggage will be charged a fee. Carryon bags which do not fit in the overhead compartment will not be allowed.

In Flight Service

China Airlines offers its passengers Audio Video on Demand, an entertainment system which consists of video games, TV shows and music. The system is available in three languages, English, Japanese and Mandarin.

China Airlines offers superb food on board, although alcoholic beverages are not served in economy class. They are, however, available in the business and premium classes.

Dynasty is China Airlines' in-flight magazine which features national and local events and interviews.

Airline Alliances

China Airlines is not a member of any airline alliance, although much talk has been done since 2007 for it to be a member of SkyTeam.
