Air Baltic is the national airline of Latvia and was established in the year 1995. Its primary hub is based at Riga International Airport and serves approximately 60 destinations connecting the East and the West. Its fleet consists of 31 aircrafts: two Boeing 757-200, ten Boeing 737-500s, eight Boeing 737-300 and 11 Fokker-50s.

Flying Route

Air Baltic operates direct flights from Riga, Vilnius as well as on the route between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen. It offers direct flights from Riga to various locations. Some of the popular destinations are Aalesund, Almaty, Athens, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dubai, Dublin, Geneva, London, Milan, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome, Tashkent, Venice, Vienna and Zurich.


Air Baltic offers the convenience of online check-in for its passengers for the flights operated by them out of particular stations listed on their website. The online check-in can be done up until two hours prior to the scheduled departure. It starts from 12 pm (local time) in the midday throughout the following day. This allows the passenger to check-in online, select a seat, register EuroBonus Card and print/send the boarding pass to the e-mail address. The passengers who have done an online check-in can check-in their baggage at the baggage drop-off counter at the airport. This counter closes 40 minutes before the scheduled departure. The passengers can proceed to the security control with the self-printed boarding pass.

Air Baltic offers the facility of Twilight check-in and self-check-in kiosks at the airport. In case of twilight check-in, the passengers can check-in and drop-off their baggage from 7 pm till 10 pm on the day before the scheduled departure. Self check-in kiosk offers the facility of check-in, select a seat and print the boarding pass.


Air Baltic allows two pieces of carry-on baggage in case of business class and one piece of baggage in economy class. The maximum weight should not exceed 8 kg/17 lbs and the dimension of the baggage should be no more than 50x40x23 cm (20x16x9").

The check-in baggage allowance for business class is three bags with a total weight of 30 kg/66 lbs and for economy flex class is two bags with a total weight of 20 kg/44 lbs. The check-in baggage allowance for economy class is charged a nominal fee of EUR 10 for the first checked-in baggage weighing a maximum of 20 kg/44 lbs for one way. Excess baggage will be charged at the rate of EUR 15 per kg for each flight.

Traveling Infants

Infants less than 24 months are allowed to travel on an adult's lap in Air Baltic flights. As a rule, only one infant per adult is allowed. The fare for an infant is 10% of the total adult fare. If a separate seat for an infant were reserved, then the child fare would be applicable, which is 67% of the total adult fare. Air Baltic does not allow carriage of child/infant car seats or other restraint systems.


According to the policy of Air Baltic, a child between the ages five to 11 traveling without an adult is considered an unaccompanied minor. Air Baltic offers the service of unaccompanied minor from the point of check-in until handing over the child to the parent/guardian at the final destination point. This service is not available online and should be made in advance at the reservation offices of Air Baltic.


Pets such as dogs, cats, pet birds and rabbits with the necessary documents are allowed to be taken in their respective carriages as approved by Air Baltic. The overall dimension and weight of the box should not exceed 50x40x23 cm (20x16x9") and 8 kg/17 lbs respectively. A designated fee as per the baggage policy is applicable for transportation of pets. The passengers must inform the reservation office while booking the tickets. For certain countries like United Kingdom, Ireland and United Arab Emirates, special rules apply that can be checked while reserving a ticket.

Frequent Flyer Program

The frequent flyer program of Air Baltic is called EuroBonus. The points that the passengers earn on their card can be redeemed for flying, renting a car or staying in a hotel.

In Flight Services

The in-flight services of Air Baltic for business class include a free meal, newspapers and portable media player. The economy class passengers can purchase meals and beverages at a nominal cost. They can even rent the portable media player.
