Where Do They Fly

Air Asia covers 66 domestic and international flights to Australia, China, India, the United Kingdom, and South East Asian countries. Its main hub is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport while the secondary hubs are Kota Kinabalu International Airport and Senai International Airport in Singapore.


The check-in counters open two hours before the scheduled time of departure and close 45 minutes before the flight. CHeck-in deadlines change from airport to airport for specific flights. Changes in deadlines are available at the time of a guest's booking. Passenger name changes can be done up to six hours pior to the scheduled time of departure. Identification cards must be provided by both the original and substituted guests for authentication and verification purposes. This can be done by calling, or by visiting the nearest sals office or airport sales counter. The service fee to be charged is US$25 per person, per sector.


One carryon bag is allowed per passenger. Each carryon must not weigh more than 7 kg and must not be more than 56 x 36 x 23 cm. Checked baggage with a minimum weight of 15 kg may be purchased, with increments every 5 kg. Discounted rates are offered if baggage fees are paid at the time of booking or 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure. Individual items must not exceed 32 kg and the maximum dimension for baggage is 81 x 119 x 119 cm. A fee of US$6 will be charged per kilo gram that exceeds the standard baggage allowance.

Child Fares

Infants from eight days to two years old can travel at 20% of the adult fare price. They are to be seated on an adult's lap, with only one infant per adult. Perambulators cannot be brought on board. CHildren under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a person at least 18 years old.

Senior Fares


Carrying Oversized Baggage (Musical Instruments, Strollers, etc.)

Seats must be purchased and appropriate fees must be paid for musical instruments to be carried inside the cabin, provided they are within 75 kg.

In-Flight Service

Air Asia offers a buy on board course of food and drinks.


Pets, living or dead are not allowed on board.

Air Miles


Airline Food

Air Asia serves varying instant food and beverages that are mess-free, which are called the Snack Attack program. Alcohol and pork are not served as per Shariah law. Eating of carry on food on board is also not allowed.

In-Flight Magazine

Air Asia publishes the 96-page monthly glossy magazine Travel 3Sixty which covers subjects such as world travel, entertainment, lifestyle, automobiles, and technology.
